About

Since 2013, I’ve been focusing on studying the social impacts of digital technologies and their effects on the enjoyment and exercise of human rights. Through public policy analyses and in-depth research with leading civil society organizations, my work has contributed to raise further awareness on how technology can undermine fundamental rights and has challenged techno-solutionism narratives from global tech corporations and governments.

I specialise in technology policy and regulation about the right to privacy, data protection and cyber security.

In 2015 I joined the Association for Civil Rights (Asociación por los Derechos Civiles, ADC) as a researcher, and later as Ssr. Project Officer. Since then, I’ve worked on multiple projects covering issues such as cyber security, data protection, biometrics, digital identity, encryption, surveillance technologies, among other privacy related topics.

In February 2021, I joined Ranking Digital Rights (RDR) as the new Global Partnerships Manager, working with civil society organizations around the world on research and advocacy projects to hold technology companies accountable to human rights standards.

In 2024, Ranking Digital Rights integrated with the World Benchmarking Alliance, where I continue to be involved as the Engagement Lead for RDR under the Digital team. In my new role, I’m continuing to focus on expanding collaboration with and support for civil society organizations around the world, leading efforts to adapt the RDR Index and Digital Inclusion’s benchmarking methodologies, and strengthening civil society coalitions built around the data produced by the benchmarks under the Digital Transformation. I’m also the primary point of contact to facilitate communications with the representatives from the digital platforms and telecommunications companies evaluated in the RDR Index.
