About

I’ve dedicated my career to unmasking how digital technologies can both empower and undermine the enjoyment and exercise of our human rights. Since 2013, I’ve been a critical voice challenging techno-solutionist narratives from corporations and governments, focusing on the profound social impacts of digital technologies.

Through public policy analysis and in-depth research, often in collaboration with leading experts across civil society, my work contributes to raise further awareness about how technologies implemented by governments lead to harms on fundamental rights and how concentration of power in the tech industry is hindering society.

In 2015 I joined the Association for Civil Rights (Asociación por los Derechos Civiles, ADC) as a researcher, and later as Ssr. Project Officer. Since then, I’ve worked on multiple projects covering issues such as cyber security, data protection, biometrics, digital identity, encryption, surveillance technologies, among other privacy related topics.

In February 2021, I joined Ranking Digital Rights (RDR) inaugurating the role of Global Partnerships Manager, working with civil society organizations around the world on research and advocacy projects to hold technology companies accountable to human rights standards.

In 2024, Ranking Digital Rights integrated with the World Benchmarking Alliance, where I continue to be involved as the Engagement Lead for RDR under the Digital team. In my new role, I’m continuing to focus on expanding collaboration with and support for civil society organizations around the world, leading efforts to adapt the RDR Index and Digital Inclusion’s benchmarking methodologies, and strengthening civil society coalitions built around the data produced by the benchmarks under the Digital Transformation. I’m also the primary point of contact to facilitate communications with the representatives from the digital platforms and telecommunications companies evaluated in the RDR Index.
